What is WooCommerce and why should I care?
WooCommerce is a free e-Commerce plugin for WordPress. WooCommerce allows for an easy integration into your WordPress website and gives you the ability to have an online shopping cart, and again, we just want to stress…. it’s a FREE plugin! WooCommerce gives the WordPress developer the ability to add all the abilities of an online shopping cart, to a otherwise, standard WordPress website, including payments, shipping, inventory, reporting, marketing and tax configurations. WooCommerce also allows for many extensions into it’s already vast abilities. These include extensions from PayPal, UPS, FedEx, Amazon and much more.
In 2008, 3 WordPress enthusiasts decided to come together to create an open source e-Commerce solution for WordPress. Take a look at this infographic for more information on the beginnings of WooThemes, creators of WooCommerce.
So what does all this mean for you?
